Utilities

The Town of Morinville's Public Works Department supplies water and provides sanitary and storm sewer service to residents.

The Trailer Sani Dump located at 9908 - 104 St (Arena parking lot) is CLOSED for the season

Sanitary Sewer Flushing:

From May - September 2012, the Public Works Department will begin annual sanitary sewer flushing as part of our underground infrastructure maintenance program. There will be minimal traffic disruption and there will not be any loss in sanitary service to residents or businesses. You may notice a foul odor while the crew is flushing in your area; however this is only temporary and it will dissipate quickly. We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns please contact 780-965-2590.

Water Distribution:

The Utility crews supply and distribute water to property lines for the residents of Morinville. They also operate and maintain 2 reservoirs, repair water-main breaks, maintain fire hydrants and install/repair water meters. They also test drinking water for bacteria and chlorine on a weekly basis.

Sanitary Sewer/Storm Sewer:

The Utility crews maintain and repair sanitary sewer and storm water lines up to the residents’ property line. In addition, the crews operate 4 storm water lift stations and 3 sanitary sewer lift stations.

Hydrant Snow Removal:

Throwing snow around or over fire hydrants creates problems for emergency fire crews. Blocking access or reducing the visibility of hydrants increases response time and could result in unnecessary property damage or more serious consequences. Hydrants must be visible and accessible at all times as Town Firefighters must be able to locate the hydrant, remove the caps and attach the fire hoses as quickly as possible. Your cooperation in maintaining hydrant access is greatly appreciated.
