Community Services
Community Services is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, services, and facilities related to recreation, arts, culture, heritage, community support services, bus services, and protective services. The department ensures community access to quality programs, services, facilities, and other resources that address community needs, enhance quality of life, and create a safe environment for residents. The Community Services Department is organized into the following three divisions:
Community Programming
Community Programming is responsible for community programs and services related to recreation, arts & culture, heritage, special events, and Community Support Services. Information requests related to Community Programming can be directed to Melonie Dziwenka, Culture and Recreation Coordinator.
Parks and Facilities
Parks and Facilities is responsible for maintenance of community parks and playgrounds, outdoor facilities, and indoor facilities. This includes functions such as tree pruning, grass cutting, sports field line painting, pesticide/fertilizing programs, and indoor and outdoor ice preparation. Questions and service requests related to Parks and Facilities can be directed to Public Works.
Protective Services
Protective Services is responsible for enhancing community safety through partnerships with the Morinville Fire Department and R.C.M.P., as well as Municipal Enforcement (Bylaw) and Disaster Services.
