Area Structure Plans
Area Structure Plans (ASP) are planning documents that provide a framework for the future subdivision and development of new, primarily neighbourhood sized, areas within the Town. An ASP is a statutory plan adopted by Council Bylaw. Prior to adoption it is reviewed by the Planning and Development Department for consistency with the Municipal Development Plan.
All ASPs are to be prepared using the Terms of Reference - Area Structure Plan Preparation, which outlines the minimum information requirements, including:
- Proposed land uses and density
- Utility Servicing
- Development Constraints
- Municipal Reserve and Parks
- Traffic Circulation
- Implementation Staging
Currently, the Town has the following approved Area Structure Plans:
- Champagne District ASP (PDF) (Bylaw 9/2006)
- Grandin Heights ASP (PDF) (Bylaw 19/2006)
Amended by Bylaws 18/2007 & 24/2008 - South Glens ASP (PDF) (Bylaw 23/2002)
- Westmor ASP (PDF) (Bylaw 2/91)
Amended by Bylaws 14/99, 31/2002 & 14/2003 - Westwinds ASP (PDF) (Bylaw 10/2004)
