Mayor B. Turner has requested that a Special Meeting of Council be held in Council Chambers on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of discussing and acting upon the following items of business:

Fire destroys St. Jean Baptiste Church in Morinville

Morinville, AB – A 9-11- call was received at 3:08 a.m. this morning reporting a fire at the Roman Catholic Church in Morinville at 10034 100 Avenue. Time of dispatch was 3:10 a.m. with Morinville Fire Department crews arriving on scene at 3:20 a.m. Upon arrival, crews determined the fire was already well involved in the basement of the structure. Fire crews attempted to make entry, but the building was charged with smoke and collapse was already occurring.

2021 Canada Day Celebration Update

Morinville revises events and activities for Canada Day
After consultation with Alexander First Nation, the Town of Morinville will be proceeding with a modified Canada Day celebration on July 1. Free Canada Day activities will be taking place at the Morinville Fish and Game Pond (100621 107 Street) and will include:
- The Morinville Fire Department Ladder Truck will be onsite from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for photo opportunities.
- Morinville Town Council will be onsite handing out free popsicles 10 a.m....
Morinville piloting Alcohol in Parks Program

Morinville, AB– Beginning July 1, Morinville will be piloting an Alcohol in Parks Program. Three parks have been identified for the program:
- Heritage Lake picnic sites
- Skyline Baseball Diamonds within Skyline Park area
- Morinville Fish and Game Pond
