Morinville, AB – The results are in! We are pleased to announce that Morinville has a new official population count of 10,578. This represents a 6.92% growth over the last Census conducted in 2016.
The 2020 municipal census was conducted between April 1 and July 12, 2020. Morinville was one of very few, if not the only, municipality to conduct a census during a global pandemic. On Census Day, there were 3,894 dwelling units in Morinville. 56.4% of dwellings completed the Census online.

Morinville, AB – The Town of Morinville is pleased to announce the sale of the Ray McDonald Sports Center to the Alberta Arena Authority.
At the March 10, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council, Council approved the following motion: “That Council direct Administration to pursue the public sale of the Ray McDonald Sports Center Arena, in accordance with the terms outlined in the report titled ‘Potential Sale of Ray McDonald Sports Center’, dated March 10, 2020.”

Morinville, AB – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and Alberta Health Services limitations placed on mass gatherings, the Town of Morinville has made the decision to cancel the Danny Hooper concert scheduled for September 19, 2020. The concert was originally scheduled for April of this year but moved to September at the onset of the pandemic.

Morinville, AB – As approved in the 2020 Capital budget, The Town of Morinville will begin the implementation of the playground replacement plan later this month.
The current plan includes the following timeline:
- August 17 - Rotary Park, Ray McDonald Sports Center Playground and Belle Park will be closed to the public.
- August 18 - Crews will begin demolition of existing playground equipment and site rehabilitation.
- September 2 – Commencement of Rotary Park playground equipment installation.
