In 2011/2012 Morinville Civic Hall (St. Germain Place) at 10125-100 Avenue underwent a major renovation to improve service delivery to the Town of Morinville.  The Mayor’s office and Council Chambers were placed in the front of the second floor during the renovations and provide plenty of room for guests to attend Regular Council meetings and other Council events.  When not in use by Council, the space is available for Administration to utilize for meetings and training events.  The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) including Human Resources and the departments of Planning and Development, Financial Services, Corporate Operations including the Community Peace Officers all deliver services from the second floor office space.

A “Gallery of Mayors” provides those walking up the stairs with a glimpse into the past.  Photos of the Mayors from the early 1900’s to the most recent Mayor to have held office are displayed in the stairwell.  With lots of room for expansion, the tradition will carry on for years to come.

At the top of the stairs, a large foyer welcomes the public and provides a comfortable waiting area for visitors to gather prior to events taking place in Council Chambers.  The foyer is also the main reception area, where visitors are greeted and business transactions take place. The three meeting rooms situated against the wall of windows provide a convenient space for public and staff to meet.

The main floor of the Civic Hall is home to the Morinville Public Library.  A coffee bar by a cozy fireplace, public computers, a large program room and a completely renovated space welcomes all visitors.
