Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw 5/2023 approved to remove surcharge fees on credit card payments

Morinville, AB – At the January 10 Regular Meeting of Council, Council approved the Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw, removing the surcharge to credit card payments accepted by the Town.

Due to unforeseen challenges in the implementation and wanting to ensure that Morinville residents are not forced to pay the surcharge due to a lack of payment alternatives, effective immediately the Town of Morinville will no longer be adding the 2.6% credit card surcharge to credit card purchases. The Town is working diligently to process refunds to those who have made payments and incurred the surcharge to ensure refunds or account credits are provided.

The Town accepts credit cards for all payments except for payment of property taxes.
