Morinville, Alta. – The first part of 2019 will bring two fabulous performances to the LIVE at the CCC stage. Our Family Series welcomes returning performer, Al Simmons, to the stage on January 26, 2019 to delight children of all ages. Then, our Mainstage Series welcomes the extraordinarily talented Chase Padgett and his one man masterpiece, Nashville Hurricane on February 1, 2019.
Al Simmons
He's a musician! He’s an inventor! He's a nut! He’s been called the Thomas Edison of entertainers, a wizard of one-liners and a lightning bolt of lunacy. His astounding gadgets, preposterous songs, impeccable comic timing and kooky take on classic vaudeville have thrilled and entertained fans of all ages for 4½ decades. Juno Award winner Al Simmons is a creative genius whose highly original performances of profound wackiness and off-the-wall inventions have taken the arts of music and comedy to unparalleled heights of hilarity. Young or old, you cannot fail to appreciate this man’s frenetic stage antics and mind-boggling lovable-ness.
“Al is a real Canadian treasure and legend,” says Events & Culture Coordinator, Ryan Telfer. “His humour and songs cross boundaries of age and generations. Audiences of all ages will pick something up from his clever rhyming and his wild and unique handmade inventions, pros and instruments.”

Nashville Hurricane
In the one-man masterpiece, Chase Padgett takes on multiple roles to tell the story of the rise, demise, and resurrection of the best damn guitar player you've never heard of; Henry Waltrip, the Nashville Hurricane. The story unfolds as these unique characters share their side of his humble beginnings and experiences on the road through stories and songs. The performance promises hilarious rants on love and music as we discover the riveting tale about the dark side of show business supported by blazing guitar work.
Join us on February 1, 2019 as the story begins…40 years ago a mysterious acoustic guitarist appeared from nowhere, conquered the music industry, and vanished without a trace… until now.
“This performance comes highly recommended from performers, presenters, and technicians alike,” says Events & Culture Coordinator, Ryan Telfer. “Chase is able to craft a full array of fleshed out characters using only his acting skills and his guitar. I don’t think LIVE at the CCC has hosted a performance quite like this and I think our audience will be blown away.”
Nashville Hurricane is sponsored by Infinite Event Services and this event will feature a meal catered by Chef Phil Hughes of Premium Food Services.
