Morinville, AB – Get in the holiday spirit and join us for the Lite Up the Nite Christmas Festival November 26 to November 28, 2021. This three-day event is a celebration of family, community and the holiday season brought to you by the Town of Morinville and many incredible community partners.
Some of the fun-filled weekend activities include an Old-Fashioned Christmas at Musée Morinville Museum; a free take-out pancake breakfast and outdoor photos with Santa hosted by the Morinville Lions Club; a free Red & Green Family Skate presented by Champion Pet Foods; and the Family Festival at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. This year, the Family Festival lineup also includes two performances by the Imaginarium Puppet Company, roving entertainment by the Indigo Circus performers, a photobooth, Christmas crafts, glitter tattoos, takeaway colouring contest sheets from the Morinville Art Club; and, Letters to Santa provided by Hunter’s Print & Copy.
As in past years, Saturday evening’s Lite Up the Nite Parade, which includes free hot chocolate (while supplies last), will precede the ‘lite’ up at St. Jean Baptiste Park and an incredible firework show at Notre Dame Park. Like last year, the Morinville Food Bank will be hosting a drive through donation event Friday evening to ensure they will be prepared for both the holiday season, and busy months ahead. The event will wrap up with the much-loved tradition of decorating the community tree at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre.
“We’re exceptionally proud of this year’s event schedule. Because of the support of sponsors, community groups, and volunteers Lite Up the Nite offers something for everyone,” said Teena Hughson, Community Engagement and Partnerships Specialist.
Some Lite Up the Nite events are taking place at facilities which have implemented the Restriction Exemption Program. For complete details including the full schedule, visit www.morinville.ca.
