Grants & Subsidies

Community Grants

The Town of Morinville provides grants to assist individuals or groups with the costs associated with hosting community events, travel to participate in significant events, start-up of an organization or community group, or other items approved by Administration.  Community Grant Policy CPSA1-2017 (Administrative Policy).

Family & Community Support Services (FCSS)

Family and Community Support Services provide programs and services that are preventive in nature and responsive in order to promote and enhance well-being among individuals, families and communities.

Morinville FCSS provides low cost and free prevention based family and youth programming that help promote the importance of family relationships. FCSS also provides links to other organizations that might provide further prevention based opportunities to the public.

FCSS is an 80/20 funding partnership between municipalities or Metis settlements, and the province, provided through the FCSS Act and Regulation.  FCSS has been in Morinville since1986.

Local FCSS programs depend on community resources, often involving volunteers in both the management and delivery of their programs. They work in partnership with other service providers in the community, striving to prevent the need for intervention and rehabilitation services, by offering services which help to strengthen individuals in their everyday lives.

The FCSS philosophy is based on a belief that self-help contributes to a sense of integrity, self-worth and independence.  Programs are intended to give individuals the tools to adopt healthy lifestyles, hereby improving the quality of life and building the capacity to prevent and/or deal with crisis situations should they arise.

FCSS Grants may be applied for in order to undertake community development initiatives in the Town of Morinville.  The Administration Community Grant application process is used. See Community Grant Policy CPSA1-2017 (Administrative Policy)For more information or contact Community Services at 780-939-7833.

There are also a number of provincial and federal grant programs that might be available to you.
