Protective Services

The RCMP is Canada's national police service, providing federal law enforcement services in detachments across the country. The Town of Morinville contracts the RCMP to provide local police services for its citizens and provides the RCMP with three administrative staff, which the Town employs.

In Alberta, the RCMP serves as the provincial police force, as is the case in all provinces except Ontario and Quebec.

The RCMP enforce both provincial statutes and the Criminal Code of Canada.

The Town of Morinville has a fully staffed RCMP compliment, and the detachment services both rural and urban areas. Morinville and area is policed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, however, office hours are: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Civil fingerprinting days/hours are: Tuesday & Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. In an emergency, call 911.
