Fire-Ban-48x48UPDATE, May 22, 2015.  The fire ban below remains in effect with the following update:  Propane Fire Pits are allowed during this ban.  Barbeques such as gas, propane and pellet may also be used at this time.

May 21, 2015.  A Fire Ban has been issued for the Town of Morinville.  Due to prolonged dry, warm and windy conditions, the Town of Morinville is issuing a fire ban which prohibits burning activities including open burning, backyard fire pits, solid fuel cooking stoves and fireworks within the Town of Morinville. Propane and gas barbecues are still permitted. The ban will remain in effect until further notice. Please check back for further updates.

road-closed-yellowTemporary Road Closure - 8:00 am May 27 through to 9:00 pm May 28, 2015. 100 Street, south of 95 Avenue in Morinville will be closed for CN Railway crossing upgrades. Please use alternate routes (Highway 2 or East Boundary Road/RR252) during this time. Pedestrian and non-motorized bike traffic will be escorted through the work zone. Tables will be set up at the Ray McDonald Sports Center, 9908-104 Street and many residents will host sales throughout the community as well. For your convenience, printed maps displaying registered garage sale locations are available for pick up at the Ray McDonald Sports Center or you can click here to view the Community map .

To help keep Alberta Dutch elm disease (DED) free, the Society to Prevent Dutch Elm Disease (STOPDED) encourages everyone to pay attention to the provincial elm pruning ban between April 1st and September 30th.
