Morinville’s ready to lite up the holiday season November 27 to 29
Morinville, AB – The countdown to the holiday season is on! Morinville's annual Lite Up the Nite Christmas Festival, presented by Shoppers Drug Mart, returns November 27 to 29 with three days of festive fun, dazzling lights and holiday traditions.
Welcoming more than 5,000 attendees each year, this free celebration brings families, friends and neighbours together for holiday activities, a festive parade, holiday lights and fireworks.
“There's something special about seeing our community come together during Lite Up the Nite,” said Kathleen Ducharme, Community Development Coordinator. “From the excitement of the parade to the joy of meeting Santa, it's those shared moments that make the festival so memorable year after year.”
Three Days of Holiday Magic
Get ready to make some merry memories! Here's a look at what's happening throughout the weekend:
- Friday, November 27: Kick off the festivities at the Lite Up the Nite Dance Party, presented by McDonald's, enjoy a video dance party, holiday activities and a visit from the Green Christmas Grouch. Admission is free, but tickets must be reserved online in advance.
- Saturday, November 28: Enjoy entertainment, holiday activities and photos with Santa at the Festive Family Festival, presented by FortisAlberta. The evening brings the Lite Up the Nite Parade, followed by Lite Up the Park and a spectacular high-level fireworks display visible from nearly anywhere in Morinville.
- Sunday, November 29: Wrap up the weekend with holiday activities and special guests at Snowflake Fun (NEW), followed by festive music and free skating at the Flowpoint Fun Skate.
