Boards and Committees

Council boards and committees

Each year, Town Council appoints members of the community to its municipal boards and committees.

Morinville boards and committees are comprised of Council representatives, members of the public, and representatives of organizations or groups. Each year, Morinville Council appoints community members to serve on municipal boards and committees. This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to take part in the decision-making process on issues that affect our community.

Generally, Council representatives serve one-year terms and members of the public and organization/group representatives serve three-year terms (unless otherwise directed by bylaw or Council resolution). Members can be reappointed for successive terms.

Recruitment takes place every Fall for terms that take effect November 1. However, with the 2025 Municipal Election, most appointments will take effect November 25, 2025. The exception is the new Morinville Policing Committee, which is expected to begin in early 2026.

Applications for 2025 are open from Tuesday, September 2 to September 30 at 11:55 p.m.

All applications will be reviewed, and selected candidates will be invited to attend an interview in November 2025 (tentatively).
