The military first brought Jayson Wood and his family to Morinville in 2010, and they quickly decided this was where they wanted to put down roots. Jayson and his wife Kimberley, who also works in law enforcement, are raising their two teenage kids, London and Peyton, here. They can often be spotted at local rinks, fields, and community events, making the most of Morinville’s small-town feel and strong sense of community.
Jayson is a Canadian Armed Forces veteran and a local small business owner in the sports sector, which means he sees Morinville from a few different angles: as a parent, as an entrepreneur, and as someone who has spent a career in service. He’s volunteered for many years as a coach and mentor, and has been involved in projects such as the LAV III military monument, reflecting his commitment to both community and remembrance.
As a Morinville Councillor, Jayson tries to keep things simple, honest, and approachable. He’s focused on making smart, responsible decisions with tax dollars, helping local businesses thrive, and improving the parks, trails, and gathering spaces families use all year long. Most of all, he values hearing directly from residents and working with them to keep Morinville a safe, welcoming community that people are proud to call home.
