Morinville Wins Two Provincial Awards for ‘More in Morinville’ Campaign Amid Record Construction Value

Morinville, Alta. – The Town of Morinville is proud to announce that its ‘More in Morinville’ campaign has been recognized with two major honours at the 2025 Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) Awards of Excellence. The awards received are:

• The Marketing for Economic Development Outcomes Award, which celebrates marketing initiatives that have contributed to tangible economic development outcomes.
  
  
• The Alex Metcalfe Best in Show Small Community/Region Award, a prestigious honour presented to one standout project in each population category. This award is named after one of EDA’s founding members, and first president, and is judged from among all community award winners.
  
  
  

About the More in Morinville campaign

This is a proud recognition for Morinville, as the campaign directly supported the Economic Development goal outlined in Morinville's 2022–2025 Strategic Plan. The initiative brought Morinville together with four residential developers (Jandel Homes, Lamont Land LP, Landrex Inc. and TAG Developments Ltd.) in a unique partnership designed to showcase Morinville as an exceptional place to live, invest and enjoy. 

Launched in spring 2024, ‘More in Morinville’ included the creation of a new website, high-impact marketing campaigns and community block parties that highlighted Morinville’s unique amenities and sense of connection, along with Morinville’s new Economic Development branding. 

Construction value increased in Morinville following the campaign launch

A significant boost in local construction spurred, with building values skyrocketing from $13.7 million in 2023 to over $51 million in 2024. This reflects heightened development interest and investment following the launch of the More in Morinville campaign. The trend has continued this year, with Morinville’s building construction value already reaching $15.9 million year-to-date.

“This campaign was all about collaboration—bringing together municipal leadership, developers, and the community to amplify what makes Morinville special,” said TJ Auer, Manager of Planning & Economic Development. “It’s exciting that this partnership is being recognized on a provincial stage.”
