Pembina Renews Sponsorship Agreement to Fuel Positive Impact in Morinville

New 10-year agreement maintains naming rights for the Pembina Atrium and extends free youth access to the Morinville Leisure Centre through Pembina Youth Activate

Morinville, Alta. The Town of Morinville is pleased to announce the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Pembina Pipeline Corporation (Pembina). The new 10-year sponsorship agreement will see Pembina maintain naming rights for the Pembina Atrium at the Morinville Leisure Centre (MLC), a welcoming and vibrant gathering space for residents and visitors.

Investing in Youth: Pembina Youth Activate

In addition to the Pembina Atrium sponsorship, as part of the renewed commitment, Pembina will continue to support and expand Pembina Youth Activate hours, a vital initiative that provides free access to the MLC’s field house and fitness centre every Friday night from 3 to 8 p.m. for youth aged 12 to 19. Launched in fall 2023, the program reduces financial barriers to recreation, promotes active lifestyles, and provides safe, inclusive spaces for connection and personal growth.

“Pembina Youth Activate has quickly become one of our most impactful youth programs,” says Teena Hughson, Community Engagement and Partnership Specialist with Morinville. “With expanded hours from 3 to 8 p.m., we’re offering even more opportunities for youth to take part. Thanks to Pembina’s vision and generosity, more young people in our community are getting active and forming positive habits that may last a lifetime.”

Through this partnership, Pembina continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating accessible community spaces and investing in the long-term well-being of Morinville’s youth.

“At Pembina, we believe strong communities are built on connection, inclusion and opportunities for everyone—particularly youth,” says Melanie Zademersky, Supervisor, Administration at Pembina's nearby Redwater facility. “The Morinville Leisure Centre plays a key role in bringing people together and supporting healthy, active lifestyles. We’re proud to continue our support of this vibrant community hub and to help ensure it remains a welcoming space where young people—and residents of all ages—can thrive.”
