Town of Morinville Appoints Michelle Hay as Chief Administrative Officer

Morinville, AB. – The Town of Morinville is pleased to announce that Michelle Hay has been appointed as its Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective today.

Ms. Hay brings a wealth of experience in municipal leadership, most recently serving as Morinville’s General Manager of Administrative Services and Interim CAO during key transitional periods in 2022 and 2024/25. Recognized for her collaborative leadership and strategic foresight, Michelle has advanced organizational capacity while enhancing internal efficiency, governance practices, and long-term strategic planning.

During her current tenure, Ms. Hay has provided steady leadership through key organizational changes and supported Council in advancing strategic priorities, financial stewardship, and community engagement.

“Council is pleased to officially welcome Michelle Hay into the role of Chief Administrative Officer,” said Mayor Boersma. “Throughout her interim appointments, Michelle has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a strong commitment to building trust with Council, staff, and the community.”

The CAO is Council’s sole employee and is the administrative head of the municipality, responsible for implementing Council’s direction, managing municipal operations, and ensuring the effective delivery of services to the community.
