New Water Conservation Rebate Program Launches in Morinville to Encourage Environmental Sustainability
Morinville, Alta. – The Town of Morinville is excited to announce the launch of a new Water Conservation Rebate Program, part of Council’s commitment in their strategic plan to focus on environmental responsibilities. Approved as part of the 2025-2027 Budget, this initiative reinforces Council’s commitment to both long-term sustainability and innovative community support.
About the program
Morinville is giving residents a rewarding reason to go green with its new Water Conservation Rebate Program. Morinville utility account holders are eligible for a 50% rebate on purchases of approved drought-tolerant landscaping materials. This program supports Morinville’s strategic plan, which includes a focus on Environmental Responsibility. Designed to promote eco-friendly landscaping and smart water use, the program encourages water conservation by helping to protect the environment, conserve resources and reduce energy use and costs.
Eligible materials for rebate:
• Plants, shrubs and trees – up to $100
• Mulch – up to $100
• Drought-tolerant turf/grass – up to $350
• Rain barrels – up to $100 (limit of one barrel)
• Rain barrel accessories – up to $25
Rebates are issued on a first-come, first-served basis until program funds are exhausted. A complete list of approved items can be found on the Morinville website.
“This rebate program reflects Morinville’s focus on Environmental Responsibility by supporting our community in adopting more sustainable practices at home,” said Michelle Hay, Interim CAO for Morinville. “It’s a great example of how Council-approved initiatives can turn long-term goals into meaningful, practical actions for our community.”
