Proclamations

Council recognizes the importance of enhancing community awareness and spirit. Proclamations are a way for Council to highlight various causes or events that benefit Morinville.

In addition to the standing proclamations outlined in our Proclamation Policy, Council welcomes requests from residents, community groups, and registered charitable or non-profit organizations. Please see the information below for details on how to submit a request.

2026 Proclamations

Declaration of Proclamations

Proclamation requests are approved in accordance with Council’s Proclamation Policy to ensure consistency and transparency.  Requests must be submitted annually to be considered. 

  • public awareness initiatives;
  • charitable or not-for-profit campaigns;
  • arts, culture, or heritage celebrations;
  • community service or volunteer recognition; or
  • causes or events of significance to the Municipality.

To support a consistent and inclusive approach, requests are not eligible for approval if they:

  • are political, partisan, or religious in nature;
  • are commercial or profit-driven;
  • promote hatred, violence, discrimination, or illegal activity;
  • are inflammatory, obscene, or contribute to division within the community;
  • commit the Municipality to financial obligations; or
  • do not demonstrate community significance.

Request a proclamation

Request must be submitted no less then 30 days before the event/ cause being proclaimed.

To submit a request:

Step 1: Download and complete the Proclamation Template, including key details such as what the proclamation is for, when it will take place, and why it is important. Proclamations should include two to four “whereas” statements.

Step 2: Upload your completed Proclamation Template to the Proclamation Request Submission Form, along with your contact information.
