Morinville’s Lite Up the Nite Christmas Festival set to brighten the season November 28–30

Morinville, AB – Holiday spirit will shine bright in Morinville November 28 to 30 during the annual Lite Up the Nite Christmas Festival, proudly presented by Shoppers Drug Mart. This free annual event draws more than 5,000 people into a world of glowing lights, festive events and community spirit.

“Lite Up the Nite is the perfect way to start the holiday season–it brings people together in a joyful, welcoming way,” said Kathleen Ducharme, Events and Programs Coordinator. “From children waving at parade floats, to parents connecting over hot chocolate, to neighbours cheering as the park lights glow to life – it’s the sense of belonging that draws people back year after year.”

Three Days of Festive Fun
Bundle up, bring your holiday spirit and join us for a weekend that celebrates connection, community and the magic of the season.

• Friday, November 28 brings the Lite Up the Nite Dance Party presented by McDonald’s. Dress in your coziest holiday PJs or best holiday wear, and be on the lookout for a playful visit from the Green Christmas Grouch. Tickets are free but must be reserved online in advance.
  
• Saturday, November 29 is filled with family fun:

o   At the Festive Family Festival presented by FortisAlberta, families can enjoy a range of holiday-themed fun, entertainment and photo opportunities with Santa.

o   The crowd favourite Lite Up the Nite Parade kicks off the evening activities, followed by Lite Up the Park — the moment the holiday lights are officially turned on for the season — and capped off with a spectacular fireworks finale.

·        Sunday, November 30 wraps up the weekend with the Flowpoint Fun Skate– a free skate with cheerful tunes, holiday gear and plenty of community spirit at the Morinville Leisure Centre.
