1. Residential Road Rehabilitation Program
This five-year road rehabilitation project will involve reconstruction of roads, replacement of concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks and repairs to underground utilities.
Impacts: If you are a resident living in the affected area, you can expect parking and driveway disruptions for several days during the construction period. Vehicle and pedestrian access will be controlled by flag persons during construction.
2. Arterial Road Rehabilitation Program
This road project will focus on rehabilitation of deteriorating road pavement structure only by means of asphalt overlay.
3. East Boundary Road (96 Ave to HWY 642) - Juniper Heights Access Road Rehabilitation
This project will rehabilitate the deteriorating road infrastructure and enhance drainage along this section of roadway (96 Ave to HWY 642). It involves paving the current gravel road to asphalt, establishing a direct and safer access route to Juniper Heights.

7. East Boundary Road Drainage Ditch Improvement - In Progress
This project will cut ditches along the West side of the East Boundary Road to help with the storage and containment of storm water. It will improve the reliability of East Boundary Road and increase resilience against flooding and extensive surface damage, caused by soft, wet subgrades.
In 2025, Morinville responded to a safety concern identified through an engineering review, which confirmed structural issues with aluminum light poles along pathways in parks and trail areas. As a precaution, all affected poles were removed to ensure public safety. Street and sidewalk light poles were not affected.
Morinville is now exploring options to determine a long-term approach. A more detailed update, including options for Council’s consideration, is expected in spring 2026.
While this work moves forward, Council approved that Morinville residents can have free, temporary access to the walking track at the Morinville Leisure Centre (MLC) during regular operating hours while daylight hours remain reduced until permanent trail system lighting is restored.
MLC TRACK ACCESS & GUIDELINES
Please visit the MLC Customer Service Desk to receive a Track wristband for use from March 11 to April 30, 2026.
Residents must show government-issued ID with a Morinville address for a visual check only at Guest Services. No copies or scans are taken.
Children 11 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the track. Parents or guardians may present ID on behalf of children.
No registration is required; this is daily drop-in access.

3. Oakmont Booster Station Upgrades - In Progress
Oakmont Booster Station is a utility pumphouse that is located within St. Albert’s limits but is owned by Morinville. It is at the start of the Morinville Waterline and provides additional pumping pressure to push water an additional 14km’s towards Morinville. Many features in the Oakmont Booster Station are aging and at the end of its lifecycle.
This project will replace, supply, install, and commission a new Motor Control Centre (MCC) and Starter, including all wiring. It will also include replacements to the heating and ventilation system within the building.
4. West Winds Sanitary Line Upgrade
This project involves upgrading the undersized sanitary sewer from 250 mm to 300 mm between Westwinds and 87 Avenue to enhance system capacity and reliability and to support future development.
