The projects below are slated to happen in 2026. Anticipated timelines and impacts will be posted when available.

General Infrastructure Construction Projects - 2026

This five-year road rehabilitation project will involve reconstruction of roads, replacement of concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks and repairs to underground utilities.

  • Locations: Old Towne
  • Timeline: June - October 2026
  • Impacts: If you are a resident living in the affected area, you can expect parking and driveway disruptions for several days during the construction period. Vehicle and pedestrian access will be controlled by flag persons during construction.

This road project will focus on rehabilitation of deteriorating road pavement structure only by means of asphalt overlay.

  • Locations: 107 Street/97 Ave
  • Timeline: June - October, 2026
  • Impacts: Traffic disruptions for several days during the construction period. Vehicle and pedestrian access will be controlled by flag persons during construction.

This project will rehabilitate the deteriorating road infrastructure and enhance drainage along this section of roadway (96 Ave to HWY 642). It involves paving the current gravel road to asphalt, establishing a direct and safer access route to Juniper Heights.

  • Location: East Boundary Road (96 Ave to HWY 642)
  • Timeline: June - October, 2026
  • Impacts: Traffic disruptions for several days during the construction period. Vehicle and pedestrian access will be controlled by flag persons during construction.

  • Location: Different locations through the Town
  • Timeline: June - October 2026
  • Impacts: Barricaded sections with minimal impacts

Park Infrastructure project will include:

  • Replacing the chain link fence and backstop at Skyline (one field).
  • Upgrade the North of Notre Dame Park from gravel to an Asphalt trail
    • Location: Skyline and Notre Dame Park
    • Timeline: June - October 2026
    • Impacts: Barricaded sections with minimal traffic disruptions.

Rehabilitation of Town Hall Parking lot

  • Location: Town Hall Parking Lot
  • Time: June to October, 2026
  • Impacts: Affected section of the parking lots will be barricaded during construction

This project will cut ditches along the West side of the East Boundary Road to help with the storage and containment of storm water. It will improve the reliability of East Boundary Road and increase resilience against flooding and extensive surface damage, caused by soft, wet subgrades.

  • Location: East Boundary Road (West) - From 96 Ave to Pump House
  • Timeline: August 2026
  • Impacts: Traffic disruptions for several days during the construction period and closure of North portion of MLC Trail

Utility Infrastructure Construction Projects - 2026

  • Location: Meadows and Grandin Drive
  • Timeline: May - September, 2026
  • Impacts: Traffic disruption for several days during construction period

  • Deep Utilities Repairs (fire hydrants, manholes, water valves, culverts, service lines etc)
    • Timeline: June - October 2026
    • Impacts: Barricaded sections with minimal impact

Oakmont Booster Station is a utility pumphouse that is located within St. Albert’s limits but is owned by Morinville. It is at the start of the Morinville Waterline and provides additional pumping pressure to push water an additional 14km’s towards Morinville. Many features in the Oakmont Booster Station are aging and at the end of its lifecycle.

This project will replace, supply, install, and commission a new Motor Control Centre (MCC) and Starter, including all wiring. It will also include replacements to the heating and ventilation system within the building.

  • Timeline: August 2025 to April, 2026

This project involves upgrading the undersized sanitary sewer from 250 mm to 300 mm between Westwinds and 87 Avenue to enhance system capacity and reliability and to support future development.

  • Location: 100 Street/87 Ave
  • Timeline: June - October, 2026
  • Impacts: Traffic disruption for several days during construction period. Vehicle access will be controlled by flag persons during construction.
