Special Collection Events

The following special collection events are available to our residents:

May 8, 2027

A Household Hazardous Waste Roundup will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2027, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morinville Leisure Centre parking lot.

2027 Collection Dates: July 6 and July 7

*July 8: Additional large item collection day for missed items. If your items were not collected on your scheduled day, call 780-939-4361 by noon on Thursday, July 8.

The 2027 annual large item collection will take place on July 6 and July 7. These dates coincide with your scheduled waste collection days.

Residents may place up to two items (washer/dryer pairs or couch sets count as one item). If rain is forecast, you do not need to cover items. If you do, the cover may be collected with your item.

Guidelines for large item collection:

  • Houses with back alleys must place large items out front of the property for collection.
  • Place items curbside by 7 am on the day of collection.
  • Please place a note on items (basketball and hockey nets, lawn mowers, wheelbarrows, rain barrels, bicycles, etc.) to identify them as out for pickup.
  • All items must be smaller than 6 feet by 3 feet (1.8 meters x 0.9 meters) and weigh less than 200 lbs. (90 kg).

2027 Collection Dates: January 19-20 and January 26-27

Pickup will coincide with your scheduled waste collection day. Report a missed tree by calling 780-939-4361. 

  • Natural trees only
  • Remove all tinsel and decorations
  • Unwrap trees; do not place them in a tarp or bag
  • Place trees lying flat on the ground near the curb, not planted in the snowbank. Ensure sidewalks are not blocked.
  • Trees are processed through a chipper. The chips are used in Morinville parks and landscaping.
