Landfill

In addition to our weekly curbside collection, residents have the option of taking extra garbage and yard waste to the regional landfill facility using their landfill permit.

Roseridge Regional Landfill provides an environmentally safe facility for the economical disposal of waste.

The Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission consists of a partnership of six municipalities – Sturgeon County, the Town of Redwater, Town of Legal, Town of Gibbons, Town of Bon Accord and ourselves.

Location

  • 55515 Range Road 251, Sturgeon County
  • 2 km east of Morinville on Secondary Highway 642 and south on Range Road 251

Visit Roseridge Landfill for more information including phone number, hours of operation, and acceptable and unacceptable residential waste.

Landfill permits

Residents who have a utility account with us can dispose of extra garbage, yard waste and recycling at the regional landfill facility using their landfill permit.

  • Costs associated with the disposal will be added to your monthly utility bill.
  • Residents must present their permit card upon entry to Roseridge landfill.
  • Cost calculation: Determined by Roseridge Landfill, as detailed in the Waste Management Bylaw.
  • All waste and recycling loads are assessed a minimum weight of 125kg at the landfill.
  • Report a lost or missing permit as soon as possible to avoid the risk of someone else charging your utility account.
  • There is a $5 fee to replace a lost or stolen permit.
  • If you lend your permit to a friend to use the landfill all costs associated with the disposal will appear on your utility bill.
  • Permits are not issued to renters. A renter must receive permission to use the homeowners permit.

Applying for a permit

Roseridge Landfill updated their weigh scale software effective January 1, 2021.

  • Laminated green passes will be replaced with new permits (similar to a credit card which will be scanned).
  • Residential permit holders will be provided with replacement cards upon registration.
  • Permits are issued at St. Germain Place (Civic Hall) located at 10125 100 Avenue
