Municipal Maintenance

Pathway Lighting

Morinville is responding to a safety concern involving aluminum light poles along our pathways in our parks and trails (street sidewalk light poles are not affected).

An engineering review confirmed structural issues, and with public safety as the top priority, removal of all poles will begin the week of November 5. Safety controls will remain in place until the work is complete, and pathway lighting will be temporarily unavailable during this process.

A long-term replacement approach is being developed for Council consideration.

Our Infrastructure Services department maintains Morinville owned property in accordance with all approved Bylaws. The Parks, Roads, and Utilities teams work to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our residents, whether they are travelling along a roadway or visiting one of our many parks.

Annual road rehabilitation and neighbourhood revitalization program

This program assesses required upgrades to concrete curb and gutter sections, all sidewalks as well as the need to overlay specific road sections within Morinville. We also consult with our engineering firm regarding our underground infrastructure needs in order to maximize efficiency while minimizing costs.
