Renew your dog licence at Town Hall on or before January 31st of each calendar year. The yearly renewal fee is $10.

It is a lot faster to reunite you with your dog when it is wearing an up-to-date tag.

More information

Your dog:

  • Must be on a leash when on public property (unless you are in an off-leash area)
  • Is not allowed on playgrounds, splash parks or any other location marked with a ‘no dog' sign
  • Is not permitted to excessively bark, howl or make other noise disturbing any person

For all other restrictions, please see the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw.

Clean up after your dog

It is important to be a responsible owner and pick up after your dog. Owners must carry something capable of removing dog defecation and may be asked to produce it on demand by a Peace Officer. Bags are also available on walking trails and around the community.

Owning a cat

All cats must be registered. Cats are required to wear their licence tag unless permanently identified through a microchip or legible tattoo.
