Spontaneous use and drop-in basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, pickleball and badminton times are available. See schedule below. Equipment is available.
Organized games and team practices are not permitted during spontaneous use or drop-in. Rental of the court spaces is available. To book space, please contact Facility Bookings.
Fee: Included with MLC Annual and Monthly Membership or Day Admission Fee.
Open Court - Sport or recreation equipment available, no nets set up.
Drop-in Sports - First come, first serve equipment and play for times scheduled. Play should be inclusive of all persons wanting to participate. Please be considerate when others are waiting to play by rotating others into play.

Floor Hockey is an adaptation of ice hockey played in the Field House. Plastic sticks and balls are available. Gloves, gear and other safety equipment is not provided, but recommended.

The following rules apply to all patrons using the Landrex Arena:

Identification may be requested to provide proof of eligibility to participate in Adult Shinny Hockey

Shinny is included in your facility membership or a daily drop-in admission. Wristbands required as proof of admission.

Gloves and CSA approved helmet are required. Additional equipment is recommended.

All Participants MUST be fair to one another and allow everyone equal playing time.

The hockey “Laws of the game “are to be followed – referees are not provided.

Max participants of 26 will be allowed on the ice not including goalies.

Max 4 goalies will be allowed, 2 per team.

Hockey nets must be properly set in place with their pins.

All play MUST stop when staff end the session.

Players MUST stay off the ice, out of players box and stand behind the glass, when the Zamboni is on the ice

The following are violations that will result in being removed from the ice

Drop-in Public Skating Guidelines |
- Please ensure wristbands are visible during Public Skating.
-
Children under 8 years of age must be supervised by a responsible family member 16+
-
Helmets are required for all those under 18 years of age and strongly encouraged for everyone over 18. Bike helmets are not allowed.
-
To avoid collisions, skaters should travel in the same direction around the ice.
-
Skaters should skate at a safe speed. Faster skaters are expected to skate on the outside, with slower skaters on the inside of the rink.
-
Skating aids are available for public use; however, skaters may bring their own commercially made skating aid product if it is in good working order. Skating aids must be approved by staff prior to being used on the ice.
-
Skates must be worn on the ice. No shoes or boots permitted.
-
Personal music players with headphones are not permitted as users may not be able to hear others skating around them or be able to respond to emergencies.
-
Skaters are expected to rest at center ice or in the player boxes. Skaters should NOT sit on the boards.
-
Skaters should not loiter along the arena boards or in areas that may block the traffic flow.
-
Formal organized coaching is not permitted during public skate. Rental time can be booked for coaching/lessons.
-
Carrying an infant on the ice, regardless of helmet or safety attire, is not permitted.

No fooling around, wrestling, or rough play on the ice
-
The following items are not permitted on the ice during Public Skate times:

Pucks, and rings and sticks of any kind, including hockey and ringette sticks

Food or beverage, plastic water bottle are permitted
-
Toboggans, sleighs, wagons or strollers
-
Child car seats, Baby Carriers

Blankets, Stuffed Animals or Toys

Homemade skate aids

The Morinville Leisure Center is a drug, alcohol, and smoke free building. Smoking of any kind is NOT permitted within 5 meters of the front doors or any intake system.
Please note: The Town of Morinville is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles.
